317L alloy is a low carbon austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum. It adds chromium, nickel and molybdenum to improve corrosion resistance and enhance chemical attack on sulfur, acetic acid, formic acid, citric acid and tartaric acid. Due to its low carbon content, the 317L also provides resistance to sensitization during soldering and higher creep, stress cracking and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state.

Performance characteristics:
The corrosion resistance of 317 is similar to that of 316. The high molybdenum content ensures that it is more resistant to overall and local corrosion in most media, such as sulfuric acid, acid chlorine and phosphoric acid. However, in strong oxidizing acids such as nitric acid, 317 is susceptible to corrosion.
The performance of the 317L is basically the same as 317. Due to the lower carbon content, the welding performance of 317L and the intergranular corrosion resistance at high temperature (427~816 °C) are better than 317.

Manufacturing process for 317/317L stainless steel seamless pipe:
Round tube billet → heating → perforation → head → annealing → pickling → oiling (copper plating) → multi-pass cold drawing (cold rolling) → blank tube → heat treatment → straightening → hydraulic test (inspection) → mark → in Library.
